Another Supreme Court failure regarding Texas Abortion law
In not taking a stand against the Texas abortion case, the Supreme Court once again proves it is in dire need of an overhaul, just like much of the rest of our society.
Emotional intelligence is rare skill to find in people, but it's incredibly valuable because being able to understand and regulate your emotions is central to your happiness.
An educated populace is the road to success, and yet we shackle virtually all college-goers in the United States with immense debt, and this holds back everyone.
Capitalism is a system of debt in which most people struggle with loads of debt. Most of our life is structured around breaking free of this debt... is that what we really want?
If we had entered Afghanistan with the mindset, “What is the best good we can do for these people?” imagine how much we could have accomplished with trillions of dollars and 20 years...
In this I talk about how Whole Foods (Amazon) is treating one of my friends (an employee of over 10 years) poorly. It's just another example of exploitation and how capitalism really isn't the economic system humanity needs.
It's odd that it's so common to try to hide cancel buttons. I understand companies do not want to lose subscribers, but if someone wants to unsubscribe do you really think it will make a difference if you make the button harder to find? Ridiculousness.
Everyone is generally so bad at communicating, yet it it so important. It is responsible for us becoming as successful as we are as a species, and the one thing that can be used to bring us together.
Just an example of a company clearly lying about a feature in its product in order to ensure a download. Was it a mistake? Who knows, but given the world we live in today I wouldn't be surprised if it was intended.
The debt portrayed in 'Squid Game' is not dystopian — it's real life
The Netflix show “Squid Game” is often labeled as “dystopian”, but remember that other than the actual game itself, the rest is just a depiction of the world today under neoliberal capitalism.
"A Special Gift" that is not special or unique in any way
Advertising deception from NakedWines in the form of fake "special gift cards" — seemingly harmless to many, but in time I hope we come to see this for what it is: deception and manipulation.
Capitalism: where manipulating people to make purchases is normal and acceptable
We live in a world where no one bats an eye at the fact that companies manipulate people into spending money, often in subtle ways. Why does this happen, and can we break free of this way of doing things?
A discussion about invasive technology, in particular Google Drive forcibly installing itself without my consent and using custom notifications that deliberately avoid the Windows notification API so they ignore system settings.
When companies hide their prices, it's clear all they care about is the sale, not the product or the consumer, and this should immediately turn you away from them.
The U.S. FDA recently issued guidance on recommended sodium reduction for food manufacturers, stopping short of actually making it a requirement — yet another example of the U.S. government bending over to business at the cost of hundreds of thousands of American lives each year.
Not letting you unsubscribe to an email marketing list is effectively placing your company on the same level as spammers. Sadly, some companies don't care about that, because all that matters is the next sale.
It's been a few weeks since my last video and podcast, but rest assured I've not disappeared — I've simply been focused on research, updating my website, and streamlining my social media workflow. I'll be resuming shortly!
We should be concerned about incitements to violence—especially against specific people. Death threats can cause immense psychological harm and have a real possibility of leading to actual violence, so we all need to do our part in denouncing such behavior.
Our movies and shows depict people (e.g. 'extras') dying so often it barely triggers a response from most people. Are we subconsciously teaching people that death is a natural consequence of progress? We ought to do better nurturing a respect for life.
We sleep, we work, and we play. Life's supposed to be a balance, but it seems like a lot of us work a lot more than we sleep or play. In this piece I talk about my own struggle with finding balance and what keeps me motivated at the end of the day.
Coming to terms with the history of American slavery
I recently read a summary for "How the Word is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America" by Clint Smith which shows how America is still haunted by the legacy of slavery. I found it a compelling read and shared some insights from the book as well as my thoughts about them.
After a bit of a break for Christmas and my dad visiting for a few weeks and getting COVID-19 and having to deal with broken utilities, I'm back! I'll be continuing my content as normal. Stay tuned for more updates!

Lying or hiding information from others to protect them
Lying or hiding information from others to protect them is almost always a bad idea. We see this time and time again in movies, shows, and in our own lives and in all cases we find that this outdated notion always leads to more harm than good.
Crime is the failure of society to provide the support people need to live happy, healthy, and productive lives. This failure is driven by our implicit acceptance of an exceedingly harmful ideology—one we must understand and shed for the betterment of all.
The Information War (and adding impromptu content to my outreach platforms)
I'm going to be adding impromptu videos as part of my outreach in an effort to produce more content, engage a wider audience, and most importantly in the hopes that in some small way I can help steer us in a healthier, more sustainable direction.

Belief - What's important for ensuring a harmonious society
A willingness to modify our beliefs in the face of new evidence and reasoning is critical to ensuring a common world for us all. To get there, we must understand what beliefs are, how they influence us, and our responsibilities regarding them.
What is 'Infinite Love'? It's a universal, unconditional love that comes from a place of empathy. In this episode, Teresa and I talk about the origin of the name, what it means to us, and how anyone can cultivate this kind of empathy within them too.
I'm finally settling into my life in Hawaii and I've found some room to come back to social media. Also, since it's been a while, I'll be sharing a lot of what's happened over the past many months in the coming episodes.
Confidentiality is paramount in this world we live in today, but what exactly does it mean? In this post, I cover some of the complexities of confidentiality and what it means to me.

The answer is love, not fear
War and class conflict are not inevitable. There is a change coming to the global consciousness, rooted in unconditional love for all, that will one day allow humanity to truly flourish.
I finally meditated for a year. My conclusion: You have got to start this now!
After spending a year meditating, it's clear to me that meditation offers profound benefits to personal well-being and I highly recommend everyone implement it in their own lives.
College admissions and the power of interconnectivity and Community
I address an article about college admissions and how it — like many of our institutions — is tainted by individualism. I conclude with an account of why an alternative perspective based on empathy and mutual support can lead to far greater flourishing.
